Chloe Liang

Chloe Liang is a lawyer at McDonald Legal who advises clients across family law, commercial law and financial services matters.

Chloe was admitted to practice in March 2024 and has developed a broad legal skillset through her experience working in both private practice and corporate legal environments. Her practice includes assisting clients with complex legal documentation, court proceedings, commercial transactions and advisory work.

Prior to joining McDonald Legal, Chloe worked at Coote Family Lawyers where she assisted in a range of family law matters including preparing Initiating Applications, Applications for Consent Orders, Minutes of Consent Orders, affidavits and financial disclosure material, as well as supporting matters progressing through the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. She has experience attending client conferences, liaising with opposing solicitors and assisting counsel in preparation for hearings.

Chloe has also worked as a lawyer within the financial services sector at Sequoia Financial Group, where she advised on trust structures, loan agreements and commercial contracts, and assisted clients with regulatory and contractual issues. This experience provides Chloe with a strong commercial perspective when advising business owners, investors and professionals.

Earlier in her career Chloe worked with HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, one of Australia’s largest commercial law firms, where she worked as both a legal assistant and law graduate. During this time she gained experience across commercial transactions, legal research, contract drafting and litigation support while working alongside senior practitioners.

Chloe holds a Juris Doctor, a Master of Commerce, and a Diploma of Financial Planning, giving her a strong understanding of the financial and commercial considerations that often arise in legal disputes and transactions.

Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Chloe regularly assists clients from diverse backgrounds and is able to provide legal advice in both English and Chinese.
